From what I've seen/heard, a ring with a number of cubes equal to a multiple of seven will yield a ring that tends to be more rigid and less flimsy. I would also suggest using different units to make the cubes (or use glue), because they fall apart pretty easily.
That is so beautiful and intricate while using such basic shapes. ;^; I freakin' love this - I'm glad I took a peek at your gallery otherwise I would have missed coming across such an amazing art form. Definitely faving this and a couple other things. <3 Keep up the great work! =]

Ironically enough, I had this idea since I started origami, but I never completed it until I thought it would be a good gift for my now ex-girlfriend. Still don't know what she did with/to it after I broke up with her.
